His Majesty’s Correctional Services has four units/cadres offering Developmental Programmes namely; Social Work, Psychological Services, Chaplaincy and Education to offenders, officers and their immediate families. The counseling interventions are held on one-on-one sessions as well as group sessions where clients are classified according to their offences, sentences, education or any other criterion that would make them interact smoothly.
There are five main sections under the Vocational Skills Training Program namely; Industries; Building and Maintenance; Farming, Bakery Unit and Salon Unit which offenders are put through as part of their rehabilitation. In 2014, the department introduced a Community Skills Capacity Building programme opening doors for members of the public to receive the same vocational training in our different centres.
